LIQUID PENETRANT EXAMINATION

MAGNETIC PARTICLE EXAMINATION (MT)

In magnetizable materials, it is possible to detect surface and sub-surface discontinuities very quickly thanks to this method. For this, a magnetic field and magnetic powder sensitive to the leakage flux formed on the discontinuities are applied to the material. The dust becomes visible and evident by being held by the leakage area on the part surface. In this way, discontinuities such as cracks, voids, non-metallic residues can be detected. It is a very simple, fast and low-cost method used in the detection and location of defects on the surface and very close to the surface (just below the surface) without compromising the integrity and usability of the material in any way.
